I ran focusing on what I was running from to keep myself going. This was my one chance to leave this torture; my one chance to win my freedom once again. I had to take because it may never come again. “Carmella, you will never escape us. No matter where you run or where you go to, we will find you. You belong to us, to me, now.” They were getting close and closer. Tears kept falling from my face as I ran from looking for my freedom. How could my own family do this to me?

Ratul and Mehak have turned into unhappy beings since their son Bitan diagnosed with Beta-Thalassemia Major. Feeling helpless in aiding their son, Ratul cut himself from his family and Mehak drowned herself in responsibilities. Things got worse when Ratul got fired from his job because of lockdown induced economic recession before they will consult a specialist. Have you ever experience that you fell in love with the older person you know? That you almost call him 'kuya'. He is actually twelve years older than me and it really hits me when he came back with a wife after he left me nothing when I got miscarriage. When I am in pain, when I had no one to cry on. He just left me and that made me almost crazy. Yes, this might be crazy but this is my story. This is what my story flows, I became his mistress and I am the mistress and got distress.

She never imagined seeing him again-not after everything that had shattered between them. But fate had its own timing. There he stood, framed in the doorway, no greeting, no hesitation. His voice was sharp and steady-low, yet piercing-carrying a weight she couldn't ignore. "If you truly love someone, you owe them the truth. You can't keep them in the dark. Not forever." His words struck like thunder, crashing harder than she expected and slicing through her calm façade, stirring the storm inside. His voice bore restraint, yet beneath it lay every emotion and feeling they'd never dared speak aloud. Others tried to intervene, but his eyes never left hers. The air thickened with tension. She stood frozen, every word tangled in her throat. Finally, fragile but firm, her voice broke the silence: "I... I need some time." He exhaled slowly. "Fine." Stepping back toward the exit, he paused, then looked over his shoulder. His eyes held something deep, unreadable, unspoken. "Just so you know... I have no problem with you staying there." With that, he left-leaving behind a silence that was anything but peaceful. It was the sound of an unfinished story-and the beginning of something neither of them could control.
