So when she was chosen for the 67th Hunger Games, she didn't hesitate and was determined to do everything she could to win, unaware that these games would change her forever.

Elijah "Ace" Acevedo has been a part of the training program for District Two for a majority of her life. She never trusted anybody outside of her father and brother, after her mother was brutally murdered by the Capitol. But there is nobody she distrusts more than the teenage-heartthrob-warhead Cato Hadley. What happens when he saves her brother's life, in the one time where her repayment may cost her her life? Does she stay in her District out of love for her brother, or repay Cato Hadley with her life?

Cato and Clove, the tributes from District Two, have trained their entire lives for the 74th hunger games, working and pushing harder and harder until they can live up to the expectations that come with being a career tribute. But deep down, behind the stone walls that they've built around their hearts, they hide the fact that their entire lives and all that they've ever trained to be, is a lie. A forced pretense that they've had to live up to simply because of their parent's wishes. Clove's father, an abusive alcoholic who couldn't care less about what his daughter actually wants, forces her to work to the breaking point and claims that she is to volunteer and become a well-known, victor. Cato has a family reputation to live up to, therefore he is forced into the assumption that he is to be a rough, brutish, and exceedingly handsome champion that everybody can't help but trip head-over-heels for. When Clove is eleven, her family is relocated to District Two from District One, and let's just say that her diminutive build and naive appearance is the perfect storm for a bullying incident. And that's exactly what happens. But there is one person who is willing to stick up for her, to save her from a swarm of blood-thirsty children who will do anything to appear tough. And just like that, an inseparable bond. But when Clove is fifteen, her father beats down upon his only daughter and threatens her. If she doesn't volunteer this year, he will disown her, leave her on the streets to fend for herself...or starve to death. What will sixteen-year-old Cato do when he is peer-pressured to enter the games? How will he cope with the fact that his best friend (and maybe something a little more) will have to volunteer against her own will? Two love-struck children, Twenty-four tributes, one victor. Are they willing to risk their friendship just to make their parents, and the entire district, proud? Or will they take the chance of death, just to stay together?

In the arena, camped out under the tree where Katniss is hiding everything they once believed to be true is ripped from them. The Rebellion is happening in the middle of the 74 Hunger Games. The arena gets bombed and the tributes seize their chance at freedom, running through the hole and into the unforgiving wilderness. Cato and Clove must learn to work with their enemies in order to make it out alive to one of the districts before the Capital finds them. but home is not safe for a bunch of supposedly dead tributes. They have heard rumors that District 13 still exists, and they are hoping against hope that the rumors are true and that they will make it there with each other by their side and be a few of the lucky ones. And possibly have their friendship turn into something more? Watch Cato and Cloves journey as they tackle life before the games, new feelings, and certain death at every turn.

74 years. That's how long the infamous Hunger Games have been around. 24 tributes, two from each of the twelve Districts, go in. Only one comes out alive and is crowned victorious and gets to parade around like they're proud of what they had done. The other 23 get a ceremony and the victor has to watched the family of the fallen tribute mourn their death. You can't show feeling. No sadness. No remorse. No grief. No mercy. Nothing. Not for them. Not for you. Not for anyone. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Clove was a simple girl who had big dreams of winning the hunger games, what would happen when she got paired with the rich arrogant boy Cato Hadley? At least, that's what she thought of him...

A snippet of the 74th Hunger Games from the perspectives of the true star-crossed lovers of District 2. I apologize and realize that this follows closely to the book and isn't exactly a "fanfic", but I changed a few things to give Clove and Cato some character development and background. This version of events makes Clato so much more real! (I give full credit to Suzanne Collins for a lot of dialogue and descriptions during the Feast has been copied directly from her actual book, "The Hunger Games".)

This story is a Hunger games prequel It's my personal interpretation of how one of past Hunger Games' Quarter Quells would have went. In this story you'll read about Synthe an 18 year old district 2 male. I go into detail about his headspace, challenges he faces and my personal favorite : life in District 2. I wrote this story years ago when I was a little younger so now I'm in the process of going back and editing pretty much everything. Reading it again I find myself cringing at a lot, but at the same time it makes me smile seeing what my younger mind added to the great Suzanne Colin's work. Having graduated high-school a couple years ago I'd like to give this story another go rebirthing it. Thank you for reading.

Scared of dying, scared of letting their friends and family down, scared of letting their district down. But most of all, scared of losing each other. This is the story of the real Star-Crossed Lovers.

The rebellion failed. Snow might've died, but a new president has been selected and the games are back and harsher than ever. District two still trains there children to fight in the games. District twelve has been replaced with new people and they suffer the most. The capitol is cruel and peacekeepers patrol the little district 24/7. But this story is not about district twelve. This story is about district two. Suzanne Collins is the author of the actual hunger games trilogy. This is just my fan fiction. A big shout out to the fandom, author, and readers. Because without you guys, I wouldn't be writing this.
