This is a version of the 75th quarter quell where Katniss and Peeta are mentors but not to District twelve as you might think ....

Everyone thought they were fighting for equality. That they were fighting, primarily, to end the Hunger Games. To end the brutal murder of twenty-three children each year. People killed for this, fought for it, died for it. But they lied. The bodies have barely been cleared from the streets before President Coin makes an announcement; the Hunger Games will continue. But the children of the Districts are safe. It's the Capitol children who face death this time around, and everyone is excited for the fun to begin.

What if the 75th Hunger Games didn't have the tributes reaped from the existing pool of victors? What if the world went on as normal, without the war? What if Katniss and Peeta became mentors together? Based on a Hunger Games simulator, this book documents the events of a different 75th games. A twisted story. Twisted games. Trigger Warning: This book contains: mentions of suicide, death, gore, very minimal language, basically if you read the original series you would probably be fine reading this. Also the first couple chapters suck, by the way.

What if it wasn't Katniss Everdeen or Peeta Mellark who were the first ones to defy the Capitol in their Games? What if it were these four unknown tributes? The story of four tributes who form an alliance in the 29th Games and find friendship in an arena where kids are supposed to kill one another and fight for their survival. In such an arena,these four fight to keep each other alive rather than themselves,even at the cost of their own lives.

She has loved a boy for many years, but he is very stern and set on working hard for money, he barely knows her. Then one day she gets reaped... Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated.
