The pretty girl with the pretty knife, who wanted to win it all. [CATO X OC] Cato Hadley, along with other potential tributes from the "Career" districts, decided to put off volunteering for the Games, until the Quarter Quell. At 17, he knew that he had what it would take, but he also knew that at 18, he would be unstoppable. He never expected to meet a girl, who had as much murder in her eyes as he did. **This story covers the 75th Games, which marks the Quarter Quell. The events of the Hunger Games book never happened. There is no threat of rebellion. Katniss did not volunteer for Prim in the 74th Hunger Games.

District Two's careers for the 74th Hunger Games may present themselves to be just that, but they aren't. Deep inside Cato and Clove are scared of coming to a dead end. They wanted to grow old with each other. The chance was taken away when Clove got reaped and Cato volunteered. It is fairly unlikely for a 12 year old to be reaped, as they only have their name in usually under 10 times. it's even more unlikely for it to happen in a rich district, like district 2 and it almost never happens that no one volunteers in that 12 year old from district 2's place. Unfortunately, for Evergreen Sallow she is constantly put in the most unlikely situations. Evergreen Sallow is only 12 years old when she is reaped for the 71st annual hunger games, she expects someone to volunteer, like a lot of tributes do, but no one does. As she is training for the games the realization sets in, this is happening for real. All of a sudden Eve's two years of training feel like nothing against the older children, some of whom have been training for 9 full years. But when she is put in the arena, Eve realizes she is much more capable than she seems.

She realizes what Haymitch meant now. But who can she tell? The quarter quell announcement soon comes up, and District Two as ready for it as always.
