Then Reconstruction, the Black Codes, Jim Crow laws, the Black Freedom Movement, the 1960s up to present-day, Kamal Al Mansour, draws analogies from film and literature that concludes the African Diaspora is not only in a dystopian state but has been in such a state for nearly 500 years. "Divine Consciousness" takes you B(l)ack and forward, B(l)ack to the future, and on a journey to Afrofuturism. This journey, however, requires of you self-realization, self-actualization, and self-determination.
