The Gothic city of Fortuna, its streets veiled in the midst of an early morning. The air is crisp, carrying the scent of rain and the echoes of distant church bells. Vergil Sparda stands atop a high tower, gazing over the city with his signature katana, Yamato, resting at his side. His thoughts are interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. Follow the story of a Devil Hunter named Alec. She has a few secrets that even she doesn't want to keep. She meets Volasits, a smart but rude man, and Dante, the son of the legendary dark knight Sparda. Can she tell Dante the truth of her past or will she die of the sickness she lives with? Story begins on Vergil and Dante still trying to kill each other. Then a few hours there now tired. Didn't wanna continue on this silly rivalry. Vergil and Dante agreed to be brothers again, just like the old times. Vergil then makes a portal but it was randomized since there trap in the underground where the Portal won't work. Dante just yeet in the portal while Vergil just walks in the portal. Dante then lands on a land filled with green grass, while Vergil smoothly makes a dramatic landing. Dante and Vergil finds themselves in a forest, but didn't expect for a creature to come out of the woods. And this is where the Sparda brothers new adventures awaits. DMC5 is from Namco while RWBY is from Rooster Teeth.

Just a little drabble I did once when the internet was out and I was replaying Devil May Cry 3. Told from Vergil's point of view.

Devil May Cry 5: Before the Nightmare is a prequel novel set before the events of Devil May Cry 5 written by Bingo Morihashi and illustrated by Tsuyomaru. The novel is told from multiple characters' perspective: Dante, Nero, Nico, V, Lady, Trish, Lucia, and Morrison. The novel makes many references to previous games and novels, as well as shedding more background on certain scenes that are seen in Devil May Cry 5. (I obviously am not the original author. I uploaded this novel here for those who couldn't find decent English translations in an easy to read place. I translated the bulk of this novel and cross-referenced it with another English translation I found, as the "official" one I came across was done poorly. Enjoy!)
