"Hanaya-sensei... will you be my boyfriend?"
"...Get serious about your rehab first, you lovesick child."
At Seito University Hospital, where white coats flutter dramatically through sterile hallways and life-or-death cases unfold with every heartbeat, one new patient is about to cause absolute chaos.
Megumi Otonashi, 19, injured, hopelessly honest, and criminally cute. His leg? Shattered. His vibe? Angelic but unhinged. His mouth? Unfiltered.
Nobody really knows how he broke his leg-there are whispers of a fall from a rooftop during a romantic confession, others say it involved a cat, a skateboard, and one too many episodes of High&Low. The truth? Megumi just smiles mysteriously like a manga protagonist and changes the subject.
The moment he enters the hospital, the nurses go kyun~, but Megumi's eyes lock on one man:
Dr. Taiga Hanaya, a.k.a. "the Icy Radiologist," a.k.a. "Dark Chocolate With No Sugar." He's sharp-tongued, emotionally constipated, and wears his lab coat like he's about to walk a runway in Paris. Megumi? Instantly smitten.
Even though Dr. Emu Houjou-the sweet sunshine pediatrician turned genius surgeon-is Megumi's actual attending physician, Megumi doesn't even blink when Emu's explaining his treatment plan. Instead, he leans toward Taiga, all sparkly eyes and fluttering lashes, and says:
"Hanaya-sensei, if I get better... will you marry me?"
Cue awkward silence, one nurse fainting, and Emu nervously sweating in the corner.
Taiga, ever the grump, mutters something about delusional teenagers and focuses on the X-rays. But deep down? That cold exterior may just be hiding a heart that's been waiting for someone exactly like Megumi: a little reckless, painfully sincere, and too pretty for his own good.
And thus begins the slow-burn, medically accurate (kinda), romantically chaotic tale of a sharp-tongued doctor and the dangerously honest patient who refuses to leave him alone.
Because in this hospital, hearts break just as easily as bones.
