With less than five thousand people, the small town of Carp, Texas had seemingly fallen by the wayside. It was the type of place where comfortability outweighed growth and familiarity offered a sense of security. Most of the residents in the backwater town had been born and raised there, as had their parents, and their parents-parents; so as to be expected everyone knew everyone. The town felt safe, and that alone was enough to keep most of its people from ever venturing out. While the adults spent their days working, and children passed time at the library, Carp's teenage population was either wasting their youth out in the marsh or getting shit-faced in someone's trashy backyard. However, that all dissipated once Panic rolled around: a secret game in which players performed risky challenges in hopes of securing a life-altering amount of money. Among this year's players was Wren Anderson, who'd always said that she'd play Panic. The newly-turned eighteen year old indisputably lived life on the very edge. She liked standing out of the sunroof at midnight, and drunkenly kissing people at parties because it came with a rush that flooded her bones. The truth is, Wren Anderson had never been able to sit still for quite long. Sorry guys! I know I have an unfinished story, but I believe that if I pursue this one with the critiques I have recently received, I can make it 10x better than the last one. This will only from our females pov, Charlotte. Unlike my last story, we will not be switching to Mike's pov and this is not y/n. I decided to not make this y/n because I feel like it infantalizes my writing skills and I would like my story to feel more like a mature romance novel, not a Wattpad story. Clem Wilcox just graduated from high-school when she realizes that she can't quite afford college. After spending time in a diner, some guy convinces her to try to town's game to get money. They agree to partner up for majority of the game, thus helping them eliminate others from the game.

Paige Glendale was just like a normal teen in carp, Texas. Poor, A mother who works all day and night trying to provide for the family, younger brother to take care of, and the fear of never being able to escape. Just like any town, they have secrets but for Carp it's a game. A game called Panic where after you graduate high school your able to compete in a bunch of different dangerous challenges in order to win a ton of money and a ticket out of hell.

Yet the girl was accepted into her dream program at Boston University and has been working her ass off to pay for college.But it wasn't enough. That's why players risk their lives to win. But the game isn't meant to kill you, and it won't... if you follow one rule. Don't panic. The truth is Panic started like a lot of things around here... because it was summer and there was nothing else to do. The game had always started right after graduation and lasted throughout the summer. All graduating seniors are eligible to play. Sometimes 40 players enter, sometimes half that. But there is only one winner. Each year there are new challengers, new players, new judges. But the game has ghosts too. We never have to say their names... they know where to find us. When talking about Panic one name always got mixed in; Cara Levine-Anderson. She was wanted to join since she was in eighth grade. He was the new kid in Carp, even after living there a year he was still the new kid. No one really knew anything about Dodge, he was a simple guy, he worked at a dinner and stayed to himself. Everyone knew everyone in Carp, they barely got new people in town. So, when the Mysterious loner joins the dangerous games everyone knew to be Panic.
