He has experiencing so much hate, violence, and bloodshed, but he hopes that someday, he'll be free of his suffering. The three dogs' paths entwine, and they find themselves placed in an animal shelter called The Haven. Together, they learn to love and, eventually, forgive.

Halder, a horrible man, is using dogs and wolves for money in dog fights. He has dog fighter arenas everywhere in Alaska. He even makes dogs fight till death. And once he finds eight strong dogs or wolves he uses them in his sled team, he uses them untill they die of starvation or sickness. But one day they find a three legged dog. Everyone wants to put him out or kill him but once they see him fight they must tell Halder. This dog can fight so good and Halder sees this, so he bids money everywhere that this dog will win a fight againts anything. He allways wins, but when poeple see this dog they think he can't fight so they bid on some other dog. But Halder will become rich and even more evil if that's possible. Will this dog win or die? This was a project I had to do for Short Story creative writing class in college. I wrote this in honor of the thousands of dogs caught in the hellish world that is dog fighting. I also wrote this in honor of my own pit bull/boxer mix, Rojo, whom we found roaming our neighborhood frightfully skinny and afraid. I hate to think about the life my sweet girl COULD have landed in. RED is not a true story but for a lot of dogs out there, it is the life they live. I post this in hopes that those who read it will become more aware of the world of dog fighting and become inspired to do more to prevent it. I hope you enjoy RED as much as it breaks your heart.
