Tiko has lived in the city alleys most of his life, walking the streets to no end. He had a few friends in his little world, and he's satisfied that way. But shocking news from the woods brings him a new purpose, and he learns he might be more important than he once thought. Now, he needs to take on the wonders and horrors of the Wolflands, and he must learn to hold the costs of what no other wolf pack was brave enough to do: Take on the leadership of the new Wolves of the Night.

He believes he's lived a completely happy and usual life - until he meets a particularly feisty black tomcat named Sullidol. Sullidol tells of a beautiful crystal buried deep in the woodlands, only manifested in legends. It's said the crystal is guarded by a prophet that will only let the Worthy One through - but who this creature is, neither are sure. But shocking news coming from deep within the heart of the woods teaches Tiko that his destiny is far more extensive than he'd ever dreamed. Now he must face every dark corner of the Wolflands, every mystery and legend to be uncovered. He must rebuild a long-lost battalion of guardians, all while being hunted down by an enemy that hunts in shadow...
