Lithia Holmes has spent her life in Appleton Manor-a place as polished and suffocating as a gilded cage. While her brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, move freely through the world of intellect and investigation, Lithia is expected to smile, obey, and become the perfect society daughter. But brilliance doesn't dim just because others prefer it hidden. Refusing to be caged any longer, Lithia runs away to Oxford under a false name, determined to build a life of her own making.

James Moriarty and Lithia Holmes find themselves drawn together in a love neither expected and both are determined to protect. Their bond is tender yet fiercely tested as they navigate the constraints of class, reputation, and the unyielding expectations of Victorian society. With Sherlock's sharp‑eyed loyalty on one side and Mycroft's cold disapproval on the other, James and Lithia must learn how to build something real in a world that doubts them at every turn. Through quiet moments, heated clashes, and the slow, steady work of understanding one another, they discover that love is not a single choice but a series of them - made in the face of pressure, fear, and the shadows of their pasts. Their journey is one of resilience, devotion, and the delicate balance between who they are and who they hope to become, together.

Amelia has spent her life running-from her past in America, from the ghosts of her history, and from a world that expects her to play by the rules. Arriving at Oxford to study, she brings with her nothing but a battered songbook and a defiant, restless spirit that refuses to be tamed by the stagnant traditions of British academia. She expects to find refuge in the library's dusty, quiet corners. Instead, she finds herself in the crosshairs of James Moriarty. Charming, enigmatic, and utterly lethal, James is the gravity that pulls everything toward his own dark agenda. He is a man who orchestrates the chaos of the city from the shadows, and when he locks eyes with Amelia, he doesn't see just another student-he sees a spark, a fire, and a muse. He offers her a glimpse into the dangerous, exhilarating world hidden beneath the city's polished exterior. Against her better judgment, Amelia is drawn into his orbit, captivated by the mind of a man who plays the world like an instrument. But as their connection deepens, Amelia realizes that James isn't just inviting her into his life; he is pulling her into a high-stakes game where the cost of entry might be her own soul. Caught between the thrill of a forbidden connection and the terrifying reality of the darkness James commands, Amelia must decide if she is truly the master of her own melody, or just another note in his symphony.

However, it turned out to be a fragile one. One that would be torn down by the very two men who had become her close companions. One of whom she had found affection for.

This story is just another cliché I made out of my boredom. It is a continuation of the daughter of the protagonist from my previous work. However, please feel free to dive right in, as it is written to be enjoyed perfectly well as a standalone piece without needing to read the first one. You may notice that the character names sound quite familiar from Gossip Girl and the other Bennet sisters, largely because I used them as the love interests to keep my inspiration flowing. I found that I couldn't seem to finish the narrative if I changed the names, as the imagination just wasn't there otherwise! I truly hope you enjoy the story nonetheless. Happy reading!
