If she came sooner, if she had kept an eye on her she wouldn't have ended up hanging limply from a crazy Mate's arm, her guts spilling out. And as she saw the light from the girl's eyes fade, that brilliant, bright and fierce light that brought joy to her every moment, she realised and accepted the truth. Adriana was gone.
