To love or to leave her former self behind. Everyone knew her story- the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion. However, Dorothy Gale isn't who she seems to be. She's just a lost girl with no connections to her family. Her true family. But, what will happen when she meets the one she's been waiting for in Neverland? Dorothy will be forced to choose a side in the fight between the dark and the light, but her fate has already been decided.

Dorothy has always been an odd little girl. Claiming that she heard voices summoning her to a land called OZ. And there's always one phrase they repeat. Ding Dong the witch is dead. Dorothy has so many questions, especially when she learns her mother was a girl named Alice who was supposedly insane as well. Dorothy's life is in shambles, and suddenly a man appears. He calls himself 'The Doctor'. And he has all the answers. I give most of the credit of the characters to the creators of DW and L. Frank Baum. RIP, Baum. (Completed!!!!) Book one of a trilogy.

This is an encounter between Dorothy and the Scarecrow after the melting of the Wicked Witch of the West. It is a Wicked fanfic. Ok so my inspiration for this comes from a book I read in middle school called The Land of Stories. Basically the main character, Alex, has a dream where she meets her childhood fantasy heroes: Wendy Darling, Lucy Pevensie, Alice (from Wonderland), and Dorothy Gale. Alex has this vision because she is internally conflicted about killing the bad guy. The four characters encourage her, and something that always stuck with me is that Dorothy tells Alex that she always felt guilty for killing the Wicked Witch of the West, even though it was an accident. The premise of this fanfic is that immediately after the events in the castle, as the gang is returning to the Wizard, Dorothy is visibly upset by what occurred. The Scarecrow attempts to cheer her up. This fanfic is inspired by Wicked. There are no spoilers for Act I or II, but I will include an epilogue at the end with spoilers for the whole play. I will imply some things about the play, but nothing is directly referenced. Also there are spoilers for the Wizard of Oz, obviously. Cover Photo credit goes to Universal Studios.

Nick knew just as much about the story of the wizard of Oz as you or I. Then one day it seemed he was destined to be a part of it. This is a story meant to give a backstory to one of the most prominent characters in the classic tale. It is a story of confusion, pain, survival, love, and loss, and tries to show what could happen when someone lands in a strange world and a solution is not immediately handed to them. Told from the point of view of the main character, it could make you see the wizard of oz, as well as certain everyday accidents, in a new light.

Throughout my childhood, my dad and I used to play this game where we brainstorm some ideas (most of them so silly that mom would eventually scold us for being psychotic) in which the world becomes a better place. One time, we divided the universe into two categories: The Pear Community, and the Piña Coladas. People who belong to the Pear Community are totally normal. They live their life regularly, eat meals every day, and socialize with others on a daily basis. But dad used to joke about them, saying that they act like zombies (minus the brain-sucking, of course). Their emotions are stable. Too stable, actually, that they could substitute for zombies: blank, with faces as hard as stones. The other sort, the one my dad proudly claimed that I belong in, is the 'Piña Coladas'. These people are rare. And, to some extent, dangerous. You won't be capable of identifying them just by looking at them. These people are highly complex. Mentally and Emotionally. They feel things with much more intensity, tending to magnify everything around them 10 times more than things really are. .. I was so little when my dad made this list. It had been long buried since he died. But now, as I pack my suitcase that will take me away from my bitter past, I realize that this theory, which my dad and I named: The Pear-Colada Theory, would be the most important gear I'd ever need. It's just a small, insignificant headstart, but I'll carry on with it, like a precious family heirloom that passed down to me. Over the years, I've made mistakes. Lots of them. With 2016 drawing to a close, Cloe was ecstatic for Christmas Day. But her present was nothing less than jarring. Her mother decided that with the coming year, the family of two would turn over a new leaf. How? By moving to a small town in remote Kansas of all places, while Cloe was in the middle of her Sophomore year on top of that. Despite protests, Cloe found herself in southeastern Kansas. She wouldn't have time to take in the drab scenery before a beady eyed crow would pull her into a story she never thought was possible.

Just before the Wicked Witch of the West could kill her, Dorothy Gale remembered why she had run away from home in the first place. It was for a far nobler reason than most people would remember. But that memory could just be enough to give her the strength to fight back one last time and save her friends once more.

Elise Chadwick is a fifteen-year-old country girl living out her life in a family ranch when an unexpected tornado hits her house and she lands in Oz. She and her dog, Biscuit, try to get back but nothing works. They're still trapped in Oz. Elise assumes the identity of a destined savior of sorts, Dorothy Gale, and fills in her role. The said savior is preordained to find the Wizard of Oz and get home, but Elise isn't Dorothy. Can she ever get back home or will she remain in Oz forever?
