Light floods the bedroom through the sheer pink curtains, sending a sharp pain directly into my temple. Propping myself up on my elbow, I finally persuade myself to open my eyes and look around, and it hits me: I don't know this place. Freshman year was a complete disaster for me. I had a huge case of social anxiety and on top of that I was awkward. I tried to talk to people but I just couldn't find it in me to just go up and talk to them, mainly because I didn't know what to talk about, worried I was being too bizarre or rude, or just not interesting enough.
