Juliette Johnson has always found refuge at Aunt Maya's farm. Summers spent among the horses and rolling fields were once her escape as a child - now, in her early twenties and fresh from a painful breakup, she's hoping the peace of country life can silence the memories that keep her awake at night. Far from the house where her parents' bitter divorce plays out and the rumors that cling to what happened in Portugal, Julie wants nothing more than quiet days with her brother Ollie and nights of dreamless sleep - without needing pills to get there. But peace is hard to find when Nicholas James is living under the same roof. Hired to help Maya keep the farm running, Nick's blunt edges and guarded silences make him impossible to read - and impossible to ignore. He's distant, yet soft at unexpected moments, and the strange calls that send him storming out at night only deepen his mystery. Julie promised herself she wouldn't let anyone close enough to break what's left of her fragile heart - but some secrets refuse to stay buried. As summer stretches on, Julie must face whether she can find the balance she craves, or if she'll lose even more when the season ends. Restoring Balance is a moving story of hidden wounds, fractured families, and the fragile hope of healing when everything feels lost.

A very early draft of an small part of a memoir I'm working on about the experience of having a child with Down syndrome and discovering that the world is not set up for him. The book will be about the joys of him but also about the changes in me the experience has brought. What I'd love is if people would ask questions, or mention topics they'd like to cover. Sometimes when it's just your life you don't think about things from an outside perspective.

Berlin, World War 2. A girl the world believes is dead is still writing. Sixteen-year-old Sara Sophia Schindler lives hidden in the upper rooms of her family's home, a secret protected by silence and fear. Declared "unfit" by a regime that does not tolerate difference, Sara exists only in shadows - known to no one beyond her parents. While war tightens its grip on the city below, Sara writes poems about light, hope, and survival. Slipped into the streets, her words begin to circulate through Berlin, offering comfort to strangers who will never know her name. As the danger closes in and the world outside grows more ruthless, Sara's family must decide how far they are willing to go to protect the girl the Reich insists should not exist.

Eight Houses. One Kingdom. A fragile peace that hides cracks deep enough to shatter everything. Prince Aurelien of House Chrysos is bound by duty, expectation, and a crown he's not sure he wants. Sent on a royal tour across the elemental Houses, he begins to see the Kingdom not through the eyes of an heir, but as a man-one who questions the balance of power and the cracks beneath the surface. Tala of House Zoetic is a gifted Healer, tied to the land and its creatures through an unbreakable bond. But her choice to walk a different path than her family has cost her dearly. When her world collides with Auro's, their fragile alliance begins to spark with something more-something neither of them is ready to face. Jessamy of House Verdant is running-from her past, from her failures, and from a choice she cannot take back. Following a mysterious pull deep into forbidden territory, she discovers a truth long buried, one that could set the Kingdom ablaze or save it from ruin. But rebellion stirs in the shadows, and secrets older than the Kingdom itself are beginning to resurface. In a land where fire dances, water sings, and shadows keep their own counsel, every choice carries a price. Some paths are chosen. Some are forged in fire. And some lead to the edge of everything.

Livy's world has been turned upside down in result of the seemingly never-ending pandemic. Livy is a special education teacher and has a love for helping people, especially those with disabilities. In fact, the most important person in Livy's life is her brother Archie, who has Down syndrome. State borders are being closed. Quarantining is strictly enforced. Once they're ready, vaccinations eventually become mandatory and given to all US citizens on the same day. Three days after the mass vaccination, Livy and her friends watch the world unravel as different people experience different side effects of the shot. All blood types are affected differently by the vaccine. The vaccine has an adverse effect on many people over the age of 35, instantly killing them. In those younger than 35, some blood types, such as A positive, thankfully appear unaffected. Other blood types such as AB positive, gradually show uncanny symptoms such as brain deterioration and skin discoloration. The rarest blood type, O positive, begins to show new abilities that seem supernatural. Locked down in the state of Georgia, Livy watches in horror as her arch nemesis, Milo, appears to lead a group of A positives in taking control of all other blood types. AB's are being killed while O's are being enslaved, doing the bidding of Milo and his group. What will happen when one blood type thinks they can rule over all the others? Is this a world that Livy can live in or will she do something about it?
