Downton Abbey ended in 1926, but what happened after that, what happened, say, 30 years later? Beginning with a fire which destroys the abbey, this Fanfiction includes a few of the characters from the series, such as George and Sybbie, and a whole host of new ones, such as Laura the Housemaid, Timothy the Butler, and Mary and Matthew, siblings, and heirs to the estate. I would recommend you read Matthew's Lover before you read Downton 1956 as some of the same characters appear in this book as main characters, and it is better if you know their background.

When the Crawley's heirs went down with the Titanic, the heir to Downton Abbey became Matthew Crawley. Over his time at Downton he fell in love with Lady Mary Crawley, but what if Mary wasn't his first love? Matthew has fallen head over heels for Lucinda-Anne Cuthbert, a wealthy Canadian heiress. He longs for her to notice his love, but everyone knows an heiress can never be with a solicitor, right???

This is a fan fiction of Downton Abbey about the Bransons and the Crawley family. It's told partly from the point of view of Sybbie, and partly in the third person. (Btw, this is going to be a trilogy; the second book is Sybbie of the Abbey)
