Twenty-one years ago, I was born. Daughter of Hodge Starkweather and Amaury Herondale. Fourteen years ago, we live in a prestigious manor in Alicante held by the Herondales. My mother died when I was five, two years after the Uprising. My father took part in the Rebellion (that much I know). After a long review of his involvement, he was punished to be exiled to the New York Institute, cursed to never be able to leave its local grounds. There we met the Lightwoods and later, their adoptive son, Jace. My father became our mentor. He trained us how to fight, teach us strategies, and guide us through every missions. Alec, Izzy, Jace, and I became team, together with the newest member of our group - my distant cousin, Lei Montclaire. The five of us go through every mission. Over the years of training and growing together, Izzy became my parabatai, so does Alec and Jace. Determine to uphold the Herondale name, to clean my father's name, and help him gain his freedom... But when his investigation brings him to New York City, he finds himself caught between Clary Fray, the New York Institute, and the Circle. What begins as an unwanted and uneasy alliance quickly becomes something far more when Isaak discovers that the Circle has ties to a tragedy his family has spent the past twenty years trying to forget. With old enemies resurfacing, family secrets buried beneath two decades of lies, and a certain infuriatingly attractive Lightwood constantly getting under his skin, Isaak is about to discover that some things are much harder in life than killing demons.
