The rendering screeching cry of the rotisserie sharpener, against the monotone base of a door shutting boom. Both echoing through the empty halls as the rubber soul taps lightly on the linoleum. Eagerly awaiting the bell, to give meaning to my frantic, nervousness, to break my cold stare, focused on a paint smudge at the bottom rim to the furthest right of the exit. The teachers numb talking and frail foot steps leading to me, drown out by the sounds of the hall beyond me. The steps are cold, sending shivers down my spine. Begging for my stare to be snatched by the bell. Opposed to his scolding sneer i felt approaching; stabbing me through my head. I stood quickly slinging up from my desk grabbing my things in one swift yank as the bell stun the calm waters of the room as i open the door right behind me and in front of me a swarm collected in the matter of seconds. Everything was gone as far as i was concerned. As i stand waiting watching in my mind until what i was searching for brings a cheery smile and big brown eyes to my view. Filling me, giving purpose...you.
