Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy hate each other. Nothing can change that - not Hogwarts' attempts to restore interhouse unity, not being paired together to research, not even a peace treaty forcing them to cooperate. At least, that's what they tell themselves as they lie awake at night thinking about the other.
Hermione and Draco return to Hogwarts for their eighth year when they are unwillingly bound together for a secret research project. Worse yet, Harry rejects the position as Headboy, leaving Hermione stuck with that git for even longer.
Between deciphering runes and dinners with the Slug Club, she discovers the reformed Death Eater might not be as evil, selfish, cruel, annoying, prejudiced, stuck-up, insensitive, mean, unfeeling, cowardly, or bigoted as she thought. Slowly, their rivalry turns into something that neither of them is ready to name, but neither can seem to resist.
