A story about the girl who loved a boy who lived and the boy who lived because of the girl he loved.
"The war is over," the boy said with a heavy sigh, standing at the edge of the astronomy tower beside a girl who looked far too calm for a night soaked in death.
Below them, the crowd gathered in silence. Candles floated like broken stars. Her eyes lingered on one particular red-haired girl, hugging to someone she wished just for one selfish moment she could have held too.
"Yes," the girl whispered, her voice barely holding together, "the war is over..." still holding her gaze towards that raven haired boy, "...because I loved him enough to let him go."
She lifted her gaze to the night sky, where dark clouds swallowed the moon, something unseen shifting behind their grey shadows, waiting.
He only watched her. He knew. Not the details, not the how, but the weight. Whatever was coming would not spare either of them. It would change their lives, twist them into shapes they never asked to become.
The girl was Raven Harrington.
And the boy was Draco Malfoy.
And this was the night everything truly began to fall apart.
