His ability to think on his feet and to stress to an impossible degree made him a candidate for Ravenclaw. He possessed such loyalty and had always strived to work hard; the hat could tell. A Hufflepuff, perhaps? Phil the sorting hat sensed the immense bravery behind the boy's actions despite the fear that was also present in some of his best moments.
