The paper briefly flashed a deep red, then faded back to white. "I accept this contract and its terms," they both said at the same time. The tom blinked as swirls of red vines appeared and climbed up their paw. He looked over at the dragon, and realized the same was happening to her. After a few heart beats they retracted back into the contract. The cat blinked sadly at her. "Well, you can't say I didn't warn you."

Two brothers paths are entwined as a battle of good and evil rages on. Maybe the lost brother may yet still find the light even in the inky darkness.
