Two Empires, one enemy. The Holy Roman Empire rules Europe and the Mediterranean, and is under attack by the Mongols from the east. The Soong Empire rules Cathay and holds south east asia in tribute, and is under attack by the Mongols from the north. Two men from opposite sides of the world are thrown together by the politics of the greatest Empires in the World. In the wilds of an Australia still inhabited by giant beasts they both confront their greatest fears. The Monqhul horde has been defeated. Now the dragon riding priests of the Temple of the Mothers Naked Heart face an invasion in disguised as a trading mission from the Qhan of the Monqhul Empire. In the 13th century an exceptional linguist priest travels on a mission to Cathay with Marco Polo. He has been sent by the Mater of the Holy Reform Church to record their journey to the great Silk Empire. Brother Maximillian Hart finds this Empire in turmoil with the Monqhul and Soong antagonists in a fragile truce. Hart is chosen by the Qhan of the Monqhul to accompany a joint trade mission to the Spice Islands and to Katithandra, the Southern Dragonland. Hart becomes immersed in the politics of the Mission and the melded society of Aboriginal and Asian customs that is the Temple of the Mothers Naked Heart. Ambitious Soong Empire military officers and government officials have for centuries taken the “Journey to the South,” to Katithandra to learn from the dragon riding priests of the Temple. Hart is caught up in this tradition and is confronted on all levels of his being as he travels deep into Katithandra and Temple society. Where do his loyalties lie? To the Mater and his Order, to the trade mission or to the priests of the Temple. What will this young priest become?

Please note: this is a third-draft story but is not revised. More than a century ago, dragons and the blue-eyed Shaderi flew together. Then they were brought down by jealous men who feared their power. Now blue eyes are a curse and dragons are a laughingstock, neither seen outside of slavery. Born a slave, her fair features mark her as a witch who is worth less than even the right to a name. He is a dragon who was raised in the arena, a life that left him unable either to fly or to breathe fire. Thrown together by an ambitious showman, they are united by a bond as old as the legends. Together, they have a hope for something more than the lives to which they were born, if only they can learn to trust each other. The words of a mysterious minstrel point them west, where rumors say their people live in freedom. The road there is hard, and at the end of it they find themselves a world embroiled in a secret war. This new world is ruled by a king who values tradition above all else. At every turn their new friendship is tested, and they are forced to decide how much they are willing to pay for a place to call home. He wants to help her learn the truth of where she came from, and she wants to give him what every dragon deserves: a chance to soar.

Eridell is a valley that rests hidden amongst mountains and dense forests; a fantastical kingdom where humans and dragons are companions, linked together at birth with a strong telepathic connection. In this kingdom, there live three especially unique people: Syn, a dragon breeder linked with a common dragon, leaving him at the bottom of the hierarchy; Kira, a respected rider who soars the skies protecting and patrolling her kingdom; and Edlyn, a princess who longs to rule better than her father. A cold-blooded murder sends shockwaves through Eridell, leaving them helpless and stripped of a ruler. This is when Syn, Kira, and Edlyn are brought together from different worlds, entrusted with bringing down the murderer who has put everything they know in danger. With the help of a dragon shifter who seeks redemption and dragons they never knew existed, the three begin their journey; a journey that will push them to their mental and physical limits. How far will each one go in an attempt to reshape their lives, and is it all in vain?

"A thousand years ago, the wind could speak the future to us. People would spend days out in the desert, just for a chance at hearing their fate. I've heard what the wind plans for me; a princess without a family, a queen without a country. But I believe that you have two options: you can let fate blow you over, or you can spread your wings and direct it." Rajani of Chikarth has never truly fit in. As the adopted daughter of General Hayate Ajam, the Lord Paramount of the recently conquered desert Chikarth, she is one of the few members of her race that was not subjected to the brutal enslavement that came with the conquest when she was three years old. As a Chikarthi, she has always been separated from her Maekaran peers, and she resolutely eliminates anything that may widen that gap. The only people that seem to overlook her nationality are her father and her best friend and lover, the Crown Prince of the Maekaran empire. However, her world begins to crumble when she meets Shiro, a white-haired Chikarthi slave who never seem to leave her thoughts, and it shatters when she finds a locket with two people inside, one of which bears her face.

THE TAVERNER'S DAUGHTER - BOOK ONE FANTASY, MAGIC, DRAGONS, ROMANCE, WINGED WIZARDS. Please Note: The rest of this series will not be published until the complete series is drafted and revised - probably another four volumes over the next year. However, this book doesn't end on some really bad cliffhanger, and I think it has a satisfactory 'end' feel, so do read it if you wish. After mistaking a leather-clad wizard for a dragonrider, the taverner's daughter agrees to binding vows: Jarryd hopes for a magic-saving paternity spell but Taniel just wants his dragon. Of course, it is not that simple. It never is. Others have plans for Taniel and can do without Jarryd's interference. Taniel's father is little help, too busy dealing with a guilty conscious and pining for his missing wife. Add talking dragons, kidnappings, a gallivanting Grandmaster Wizard, a wicked stepfather, seductive shape shifting winged wizards, and midwitchery. Stir with rumour of plotting land-locked pirates, spies, feisty forest sprites, rockgoblins, and a failing magical barrier. Welcome to the world of A Corrangorachian Fantasy. SOME MILD MATURE MOMENTS (but maybe not enough to mark MATURE): A few not-particularly-graphic sex scenes. Violence? Could get nasty, depending on your perception. Drug Use? Pipe smoking, copious alcohol, and the odd potion. And some coarse language, of course. (AUSTRALIAN - BRITISH ENGLISH)

A fan fiction that takes place in the world of Westeros and Essos between 7AD and 101AD. The work is intended purely for entertainment and for kicking time until 2026, when we hopefully get HOD season 3 :). I am a fan of the show ( HOD), but I have not had time to read the books really, and as much as I have tried to do my research, so the story flows seamlessly with the world ( as it is intended to), I admit it propably contains mistakes. It will definitely have grammar and spelling mistakes though. On the story: While watching season 2, and researching about the source material, I came to feel like the '' can't rule she is a WoMaN'' argument is utterly meaningless when it comes to targaryen sucsesion. I understand the world building somewhat, but I aim to do targarien women justice, by portraying them as true threats to their male counterparts. This story ''creates'' an alternative world where the council decides on the safer option, in hopes of evading a much bigger danger, that could turn the basis of society upside down! Stalker, '' The Misery'' by the dragon keepers after her ferocious nature, and '' The Wandering Doom'', by villagers of the many places it traveled to, is a she dragon that grew wild for most of its long life. Born around year 7 AC, it was claimed by the 9 year old un-named princess the night her father died on the Iron Throne. While the child appears harmless, the dragon she rides quickly grows to be perhaps the largest living dragon by 101 AC, the only dragon battle hardened in true dragon-to-dragon combat. The princess never flew it against men, but perhaps, there could be a reason strong enough for her to turn the reign towards the Throne?! '' I am obviously not J.R.R Martin, and you actually need to at least be familiar with his works to fully enjoy this one... i think''
