"The prophecy may say you're a hero, but you'll never be what the universe needs to survive." "A war is coming and Dragnaple is going to need more than freaks like you to save it." Cloud Star had always known he was different. He had known from the moment he had burst from his egg, haunted with the curse of sapphire scales and feared across the galaxy for the destructive powers he had been fated. He feared the day he would become just as the legends proclaimed; a monster. But when the tides of war turn sour, Cloud is given a choice; remain hidden and safe from the rest of the universe...or leave behind his home, his fears, and nineteen years secluded in the shadows to become the hero the galaxy never could have predicted... "We are only given one life, one chance, to do what must be done. Make sure it is a good one."

This is a fanfic inspired by Tui T. Sutherland's Wings of Fire, set on a distant continent called Phantasia (fan-ta-sea-uh). This is Book One of Five, following an InkWing named Blotch, whose rare gift of foresight appears through his artwork. But he doesn't know what's coming, he can only see so far. ⚠️ Note: This is an AU fanfiction, and a few canon elements have been changed. Also, please don't expect much from me, I'm not too great at writing (In my opinion) If you haven't read Wings of Fire, I recommend doing so first for context. Don't forget to leave feedback, and enjoy reading!
