Humans can be the worst monsters of all, killing those not like them for no reason other than hatred and abandoning those deemed too weak. But animals can and will take in other species to raise as their own. So who, then, is the true beast?

Since Berkians can remember, every person in the teenage years will gain the ability to shapeshift into their spirit animal. You don't know what age you'll gain the ability exactly but it always happens in your teens. Throughout Berkian history, not one Viking has ever had a dragon as their spiritual form. From what I'm guessing it's because Vikings loath dragons so much, hating dragons is part of their personality so it makes no sense for a dragon loathing Viking to be a dragon. I wonder what would happen if a Berkian turned into a dragon? Third Person POV

My first How to train your dragon fic! I'm twisting the story with some of my favorite twists. This will include dragon shifter/were dragon Hiccup & others, some OCs, runaway Hiccup, and Hiccup and Toothless as brothers.

Prequel to "To Go A-Skrilling" When Hiccup was eleven years old, he tried to run away from Berk, only to run into serious trouble. Saved by the legendary Skrill, a terrifying creature of lightning and the insignia of the Berserker tribe, he was given an unusual gift. The gift of becoming part dragon. With his new saviour and mentor to guide him, Hiccup became the most powerful of dragons (beside the Night Fury), right under his village's collective nose. But after the disappearance of his newfound ally, he soon found himself fall back into his old, dragon killing ways. Four years later, at fifteen years of age, Hiccup found himself using his own homemade bola-throwing contraption atop a hill as he aimed at a Night Fury.
