I planned this project a month ago and finished it earlier tonight. I wanted to write a poem with the same cadence as the song This Silence Is Mine by Chihiro Onitsuka. It's part of the Drakengard 3 soundtrack and one of my favorites. This was a little tricky for me because the singer performs most of the song in Romaji. Only the chorus is in English. There are full English translations, but I wanted to write with the Romaji flow in English. I listened to the song a couple hours last night while counting Romaji syllables. I didn't want a different structure. I also wrote in the spirit of the song, which to me is empowerment in the face of suffering. I know I'll never do this song justice, but I wanted to pay homage to a piece of art that has carried me through many rough times. I hope you all enjoy.
