The novelization for the eighties Chipmunks cartoon episode "Dream Lighting." Brittany has a dream about her favorite romantic detective show, and her sisters and the chipmunks take the spots of the characters! David Alvinson (Alvin), private investigator, works hard to solve a mystery with his client Ms. Snoop (Eleanor) The secretary of the detective agency, Ms. Da Pest (Jeanette) is along for the ride, but willing to help from her post at the agency. Meanwhile, Alvinson's love interest, and ex-co-worker Bratty Hayes (Brittany) becomes a perfume spokesperson for the company Snoop works for. Bratty may have interest in the charming, classy president of the company, Simon Le Simon (Simon), which might cause a twisted triangular problem with Alvinson. Snoop and Alvinson think there is something going on with Le Simon, but they are yet to find out. Is Bratty in danger by being coupled with Le Simon? Or can Alvinson save Bratty before it's too late?
