After years of fighting, Sonic and his team can finally have a break. Eggman is put in jail, and potential threats are lying low. Sonic and his friends can have a normal life finally, and get to be there age! Tails, Amy, and Knuckles go explore the world, leaving Sonic behind. Sonic just smiles, he was happy for his friends. Years after the events of Sonic Adventure, the being broke free from the Master Emerald, shattering it completely. With the negative energy of the emeralds and a burning desire to conquer all, a sinister hedgehog was created. It decided to take on the name Nega. For it drains all energy from others and turns it into its own power. It has already drained the energy of the Master Emerald. It now has it sights set on users of Chaos energy and the Chaos Emeralds. How can Sonic and co. fair against this new enemy?

Which has the ability to turn thoughts into reality. But they aren't the only ones tracking the source. The evil tyrant roboticist, Dr. Robotnik, back from the Swamp planet after the Death Egg crash in "Sonic and Knuckles", his Imperial Badniks and their allies the Dark Echidna Legion start building a new Death Egg and round up Katia's family and friends. It is now a race against time to prevent Dr. Robotnik from enslaving Earth and Mobius.
