Ethan Harden hated Christmas almost as much as he hated being a high-school dropout. Hated returning home to a family that scorned every decision he ever made. After all, it wasn't his idea to drop out, he had wanted to be a veterinarian. As Ethan's car breaks down passing through a small town as he took the long way around to home, he wonders if this was a sign. But when he notices a stranger and his dog in distress at the lake, Ethan's experience and instincts as a volunteer firefighter kick in. Stranded in a small town, with a broken car, and trapped in a snowstorm hadn't been Ethan's idea of fun. But as Rosie's savior, Wesley allows Ethan to stay at his place until the storm passes. And as the days go on, both of them wonder if maybe, this had been more than just a coincidence. Maybe it had been the perfect place to fall. After his mother died, the only family he known or even probably had besides his dead beat father that left the second the word cancer came out of the Doctor's mouth and a brother he can barley tolerate. After she died he was alone, depressed and utterly broke. With no type of degree to show for, Charlie had no choice but to work odd jobs just to keep himself on his feet. And the best money he could find was competing illegally in the streets, shedding blood nearly everyday for a little cash. Life gives you things you never thought you needed. And that very need came in the form of something broken that just needed a little mending.

On a hot summer day in june adilyn was busing tables , it was a busy day so naturally adilyn had alot on her mind when a old rough looking couple came into the diner seating themselves.when adilyn takes a bit too long and forgets one of their orders the old man turned into the devil himself and began causing a scene , he raised his hand and adilyn was shocked to think he was going to smack her or worse but when a young gentleman around her age stops him looking like he was about to comit murder . after the incident she learns his name to be adam cavinskie finding out he was the old couples grandson they grew closer as he continued to visit what happens to the two when adilyn learns about adams past ?and her dad suddenly shows up at the diner....drunk.
