16-year-old Tomas Tovis has been a wary boy ever since he suffered a life-changing childhood injury at the hands of his own parents' pokémon. Years later, he is living with his grandmother and his relatively normal life is turned on its head when he, along with another seven, is handpicked by the Committee after a surprise disaster befalls his village. It's quite simple, there's only three things he needs to do: * Avoid trainers like the plague * Capture the one responsible * Save the day Fate has other plans though, and after a tragic twist of events that leaves him feeling betrayed, he plunges himself head-first into the trying life of a trainer, all with one goal in mind: To become strong enough to turn a hope into reality. Join him in a quest that will see him transform from a cautious, mild-mannered boy to a fearsome pokémon trainer and a mighty thorn in the side of all the giants who stand in his way.

We all know that some Pokemon are scarier than others, whether it's because of their unnerving appearance or their creepy dex entries or just because. Halloween is approaching, so why not celebrate some of the pocket monsters that cause the hairs on the back of your neck rise by reading short stories about them? Chapter content can range from being almost comical to mildly unsettling and possibly disturbing, depending on your taste in scary stories. Read on if you dare.
