Hayley Nayak is a college student bored with her continued uneventful existence. That all changes when a student in her college is murdered and she receives a message from the killer. Shiv Shah isn't a stranger to death, with two dead parents you won't be either. When a student in his college is murdered he can't resit checking it out at least once. Their paths cross standing on dried blood of the victim. The reaction is instant - hate. Hayley doesn't want anyone to mess with something that is her's and Shiv isn't sure why he listens to the girl that everyone believes to be the killer.

In Indaco, people from different worlds are summoned to fight fictional evil in simulated worlds, generating energy for Indaco when these "Heros" use the powers granted to them by a race of powerful androids called Overseers. The Overseers' main job is to observe the Energy Source or "Hero" assigned to them, doing whatever it takes to get the person to want to stay in the simulated world they are brought into. There is no going back for these "Heros"- either they live and die in their simulations or they get eliminated by their Overseers. This journal features the story of one such Overseer and the much too perceptive and ambitious Class S Energy Source he has to guide and deceive.
