What would happen if there was a Dutton who had a calming effect on the rest of the family? What if the youngest Dutton was a smart, sweet, stubborn girl who refused to let the darkness in and would dig her heels in to get her family through it unscathed? What if a certain burly cowboy with a heart of gold was the only thing she's been missing? This is a first attempt at fanfiction, this story idea just won't get out of my head so I decided to give it a try. Maybe I was destined to be doomed. I didn't know it would take this long. He should've died then and there. And she should've minded her business. But neither of them did as they were told. And I wondered if anything would ever be fair in my life. I had walked for what felt like 800 miles. But it wasn't that much. But I knew it was a while. I got to a part of town that I hadn't seen. I guess it was a long time for me to be walking, cause it was sunset. I had been walking since noon. It must've been about 6 o'clock, cause it's winter, and the sun is nowhere to be seen. I'm just glad I wasn't back in the woods again. The only few buildings I had seen was a gas station and a convenience store. There were two cars at the gas station, and one at the store. One of them was a truck, it didn't seem to have a driver in it yet. I don't want to sleep out here tonight, it'd be best to go however far I can in the bed of the truck, and then hop off when I need to. Whether that be getting caught or falling out, so be it. I'm desperate, homeless, cold, and I could've been an orphan. I should've anyway.

"Who is that?" Malcom Beck said as he stared at the young woman who was feeding the horses. "I'm gonna tell you something right now, That girl is none of your concern. I will gladly protect her with my life. So I suggest you stay clear of her or I'll rip you limb from limb" Rip explained to the Beck brothers before storming away from them.
