18 year old Dakota Dutton(blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'11, muscular body) is Beth's niece, the daughter of her late brother Lee. After his passing, you came to live with Beth, her husband Rip, and your grandpa John on the Yellowstone ranch in Montana. The ranch is vast, rugged, and carries the weight of your family's legacy. Beth is more than just your aunt-she's your best friend. Fierce, outspoken, and unapologetically protective, she's always there for you. Charlotte Dutton is the youngest daughter of John and Evelyn Dutton. Like the rest of her siblings, she was pushed to become something that would serve the greater purpose of the great Yellowstone ranch. Charlotte, or Charlie, as she's called by everyone, but her father, left the ranch to go to veterinary school, and returned home to learn the ropes, and one day assume the position as the ranch's primary vet. That's when she meets Ryan, low man on the ranch, and her whole world view changes... (This runs with the timeline of the show, but I will throw in my own flashbacks.)

What would happen if there was a Dutton who had a calming effect on the rest of the family? What if the youngest Dutton was a smart, sweet, stubborn girl who refused to let the darkness in and would dig her heels in to get her family through it unscathed? What if a certain burly cowboy with a heart of gold was the only thing she's been missing? This is a first attempt at fanfiction, this story idea just won't get out of my head so I decided to give it a try.
