Dyingbreath Stories

Little Kasha is only half of what she seems. Being born a paranormal creature, she has little options of what she can do without drawing too much attention to herself. Trying to run away from what she is, she finds herself in a place called the Forever pet shop where she and the owner Nick have a little deal worked out. Every so often she is given out on loan for humans looking for rare and exotic breeds. It never lasts long and each one brings her back. When she comes back she is allowed time to herself, safe in the little pet shop with no one the wiser of what she is. Life is easy and she is safe. Until one day a man walks into her little safe haven. He knows exactly what she is and despite her and Nick's arrangement, it looks like she'll be getting a new owner, indefinitely... **Author's Note: This is a short story. There will be other short stories to follow this one.

Meet Abigail Summers, a girl that has a rare disease in it's most extreme form. She has erythropoietic protoporphyria, she has it so badly that if she ever even steps out into the sunlight she'll die. Her parents never allow her out and everything is tinted black to keep the sun out, worst part is that she's going to die either way and to think all of this at the age of eight. Meet Cara Smith, a pediatric nurse that is assigned to Abigail. Erythropoietic protoporphyria is her specialty, especially in keeping the kids happy during their dark and gloomy life. She has ways to make sure that they are happy, will she be successful with Abigail? What happens when Cara finds out that the only thing that Abigail wants is to be in the sun one more time? She knows that she'll die soon anyways so what's the point of not doing it. Will she be able to convince Cara that it's a good idea?
