Pues bien, las personas de la ciudad se han dado cuenta que, siempre que ocurre un incendio, un torbellino o algo por el estilo, alguno de los gemelos (bien sea Landon o Juliet) estan siempre cerca y aparecen en la escena cada vez que es reportada; es asi que desde entonces, la familia Maverick es culpada de causar estos problemas en San Diego, de alguna e inexplicable forma u otra, lo creen. Algunos piensan que tienen artefactos o tecnología avanzada a escondidas que altera el cambio climatico o genera explosiones, otros que incluso utilizan brujeria, y una pequeña parte de quienes conocen sobre este tema, solo ignoran y tratan de evitarlos; en resumen, una gran cantidad de la ciudad de San Diego los señala, La Familia Maverick es acusada de y amenazada por los hechos. Los gemelos trataran de descubrir por qué ocurre esto cada vez que ellos estan cerca del lugar de los hechos, con la ayuda de su familia, y otros chicos que quizás tengan algo -o mucho- en comun con el asunto.
