In the years 2xxx, circa 2095, Earth is a cold and dying planet plagued with intoxicated and infertile soils. Following the Nuclear Wars Age that registered a boom of the most polluting industries to produce chemical weapons, barely any sunlight reaches the surface of Earth. Their unregulated use during the Nuclear Wars have pretty much transformed Earth into a vast wasteland where breathable oxygen, edible food, acid-free water are a luxury reserved to the rich who live in pollution free citadels whereas everyone else struggles to earn their right to survive the nuclear winter. At this point, one company, Seven Skies Ltd, dominates the food chain. To secure her earnings, Seven Skies Ltd's CEO Arachne is wanting more. Her overwhelming victory is almost certain, well until a challenger gets in the way of her grander schemes, Phantom Bullet. Those guys are what she hates the most, troublesome troublemakers who have their goals set on disrupting her world domination agenda.

When the world finally came to an end the first time, not many were left to document it. This tale was found deep in the desert sand battered, but prevailed over the abuse of time. From the last time the earth succumbed and ceased to be. Long before the next generation, us, were sent to relish in its rebirth. Given a second chance. We must count our blessing and repent our sins for it to not happen again and take us all with it. We must not let history repeat itself. So let us learn the wrongs of our formers, for it is documented that this happened in a year close to our own, the year 2031. The Trial. The screams of the innocent, the pleas to not put them in the program. Not everyone left the program alive. Those who did were heavily scarred, but the survivors only made up 3% of the people selected. Surely, the new society would use this as a reflection on their new world one year later.

They know the apocalypse is coming. They've seen the news. A deadly virus is sweeping the world and scientists have yet to create a cure as thousands die every day. Two lovers fight to stay together as fear and disease take over the world. One of them is a scientist searching for the cure, and the other has just contracted the deadly disease. Time is limited. Will they survive?

After escaping to the safety of a city-state, a refugee has to make a critical decision: coffee or tea? Written for the 'Coffee on a Porch' flash-fiction contest by @DystopianApocalypse.

An experiment designed to increase the growth of plant life has gone horribly wrong. Mutating out of control and passing to other species, the catalyst begins to affect other forms of organic life, speeding their growth and causing them to age physically at an extreme rate. The human variant results in flesh and organs decaying in months, but the people themselves remain alive, sustained by the aftereffects of the catalyst. As humans and society come apart, it remains to be seen if anywhere will be safe from The Rot.

The Sun is his enemy. For thirty years the island of Empyrea, the only known place in the world with living humans, has been nothing but an apocalyptic wasteland after the Sun turned red. Now no one can step out into the light, or else they become molten corpses called Pyrtoma who wander around the desert dunes and search for radiant warmth in the blood of humans. Lars Larthu, a 26-year-old human born into this accursed world is forced to survive in Empyrea with the only family he knows which is his little sister Titia who he has sworn to protect above anything else. With little resources around him to survive, Lars will make alliances, cause betrayals, and stain his hands with blood to make sure that he and his sister survive. How far will Lars go to keep himself alive, or will he be corrupted enough to take the power of the Pyrtoma for himself and become the king of Empyrea? The Sun will decide.

What would you do if your world was crumbling? Your family is constantly in danger and a virus is in the air. The government has a cure yet refuses to distribute it to the common people. You've seen people attacking and eating each other. Some with a dead glare in their eyes. And others...just trying to survive. This is the apocalypse. This is a dystopian society. Welcome to hell... Warning: May contain many things like violence, swearing, sexually explicit content (at some point), et cetera. Also, a bit of plot ideas from the walking dead (not really, just one main thing). Don't judge. Don't like, don't read. It's that simple. For the people who do read this cruminess I hope you like it and I appreciate feedback. So enjoy.
