The Iron Curtain still stands strong, dividing the West from the East, dividing freedom from oppression. Lena Hofmann lives in East Germany, a country of censorship, domination, and debilitating fear. Lena has caught glimpses of a different world—a world of freedom—from novels, music, and illegal broadcasts from the West, but she has no real knowledge of the other side of the Wall. Until one day, an American pilot crashlands outside East Berlin and turns Lena’s whole life upside down. Lena longs for a different life, but how far will she go to experience life on the other side?
