Sierra seems to have the perfect life: perfect grades, perfect friends, a perfect boyfriend, and a loving mother. She has spent years carefully maintaining that image, especially after the death of her father-a subject she refuses to discuss.
When Jenny, a new girl in town, moves in next door, she quickly notices that Sierra's perfect life doesn't quite add up. Family photographs seem to have been deliberately altered, Sierra's mother avoids certain subjects, and Sierra becomes strangely defensive whenever Jenny asks about her childhood.
At first, Jenny is simply curious. But the more she investigates, the more she realizes Sierra is hiding something much darker than she imagined.
As Jenny gets closer to the truth, her curiosity turns into an obsession. Sierra, meanwhile, begins to realize that Jenny may know far more about her than she should.
Neither girl realizes that their connection goes back much further than either of them knows-and that uncovering the truth about Sierra's family could destroy them both.
