Former Amity member, James Wood has always attempted kindness, but failed consistently. In general, the faction system has always seemed kind of pointless to me. Ever since I can remember, I always wondered why we were split up into different groups. I always wondered why we had to be five, instead of a whole. But pieces of the answer I look for have found there way to me. For example, I know now why I have these thoughts. Not because I am curious. Not because I am smart. Because I am divergent.

For most people, New Year's is a fresh start. It's a chance to wash away the sins of the last year and vow to do better in the next. It's a chance for redemption. But Tobias Eaton doesn't want to let go of the past year. Not when one of his closest friends, and mentors, was murdered. Starting over would be like washing his hands of his friend, like moving on, like forgetting him. Wouldn't it? Fortunately, Tris Prior knows just what to do, say, and sing, to ease her boyfriend's concerns. This is another special one-shot, for, obviously, New Year's.
