In a world where wealth rewrites truth and status outweighs sincerity, The Vault of Lies opens its doors to expose society's obsession with money and the illusions it creates. Chapter 1 dives deep into the seductive power of wealth-how it manipulates perception, grants influence, and defines worth not by character, but by currency. Through powerful contrasts and thought-provoking scenarios, it questions who truly values what they have, and whether equality can exist in a world governed by financial privilege. As the layers of illusion are peeled back, readers are left to confront the harsh reality: in this society, money doesn't just talk-it decides who is seen, heard, and remembered.

'The Shortest Pain' is a testimony to Fred D'Aguiar's gripping exploration of life which is 'The Longest Memory'. It is a first person account regarding the death of Chapel within the main story from another character's perspective, specifically a character who has been invented as a plantation owner who happens to hear Mr Whitechapel at the Gentlemen's Club one fateful night. There he chooses to converse with him and leads to their sharing of beliefs upon the matter of American slavery in the South between 1790 and 1810.

Christmas/seasonal themed poem series - they vary from humorous to gloomy, haiku's to sonnets, religious to trivial, yet all are short and most have somewhat of a twist. Written in lower case as I was taught by a poetry tutor (alledgedly, this is how it's suppose to be?). Enjoy people; let me know what you think. xxx
