Marcus Nelson, a 16 year old boy, Hides his skin and face under bandages. His skin is really dry and red, bleeding and painful and he's embarrassed going out into public. He eventually moves house and has to go to a new school, Cranberry Secondary. Everyone surrounds him and tries to see what's underneath the bandages, all of them curious. But he yells at them, making them all back away, not the best way to make a first impression. Everyone avoids him except for one boy, Thomas Smith, who wants to be his friend.
