A story inspired by a collection of Edgar Allan Poe short stories.

The sky wept for the lack of light, strangled by dark clouds hovering over New York City. It was a rare moment where the streets weren't filled with people, most taking refuge from the wailing sky. A young man and a raccoon take the opportunity to amble on home, basking in the solace the rain has brought. A scream, child-like and terrified, tears through the solitude. The man snaps his head up, a single violet eye peeking through dark bangs, confused and slightly annoyed. The raccoon chitters loudly and leaps off of the man's shoulder. "Karl?! What-" The man reaches forward in an attempt to grab the raccoon before it could run off, missing by a hair. He curses under his breath and begins to run after the animal. The rain falls harder, nearly blinding the man. He nearly slides off of his feet as he turns a corner, almost catching Karl. Something, no, someone, slams into him. He falls back with a huff, landing hard on the flooded street. Both eyes are revealed as he looks down, frowning. His expression freezes at the sight of sunset-colored eyes, terrified and lost. Tiny hands, pale and bruised, covered in scars, reach up to grab his shirt. "Tasukete!" Nothing is the same since. - I've had this thought for a while, because I think Edgar deserves some love (I love both the author and this character SO much) and I also think Edgar and Atsushi would get along so well. I haven't read or watched much of BSD, but I am reading as I go, so if things are inconsistent... I'm blaming it on the canon divergence. :P Anyways, I hope you all enjoy! Ranpo moved out at six, but came back to his hometown just for the start of high school. There, he meets an interesting student... During that time, a mysterious trail of crimes is commited in the town. Ranpo, as a self-claimed detective decides to investigate it, discovering a dark secret... Another ranpoe story! We all know, or at least should know, the work of Edgar Allan Poe. He is one of the most phenominal writers in history. This book is full of some of his best and most well known works. For those who love Edgar Allan Poe or those who just want to read his stories/poems because they have nothing better to do, this is the place to be! All the stories/poems in here belong to Poe and NO ONE ELSE!! The only person taking credit for the stories, is him. I will only take credit for putting them all together, right here on wattpad. Plus, I don't think it'd be easy to plagerise a well known author like him, even if he is dead, because he is just that fucking awesome! R.I.P Poe!

This is in late celebration of YAOI Day, 1st August. Yeah, i know I'm hella late, sowwy. Also, I know next to nothing about Figure Skating so I'm going to be intentionally vague but feel free to roast me for my BS.

Annalise was sixteen when she died saving her brother and sister from a fire. One would think such an act at a young age was a straight ticket to an afterlife she expected. Instead she's in a world of creatures only imagined about and who are only allowed to break through the thinning Veil on Hallow's Eve. The Creature owns a bookshop and usually pretends not to hear when someone unwisely utters the name "Frankenstein." Nevermore makes puns about his writer, Edgar "A. Poe-et" and has a penchant for whiskey. Arachne spins the fabrics for their odd little "town" and complains about the quality of modern day textiles. As an actual human soul, Anna's an oddity and they make sure she knows this. All the while Jack o'Lantern turns out to be a spirit who's free to come and go, unlike the rest of them. And yet he never offers to guide her to Heaven like he usually would. While dealing with the grief of her own life lost, odd things begin to happen. Dreams she shouldn't have bleed into her memories. Memories not her own bleed into her dreams.
