Sergeant Amber Chamberlin: an exceptional young female officer battling it out on the fields of Britain's most notorious crime hotspots, as well as establishing an effectiveness and popularity among her local community in the suburbs of Hammersmith, London. But Amber's world is about to come crashing down around her as the resolution of a bar fight at her local pub turns nasty, and she is left fighting for her life. A transfer to a small village in Gloucestershire becomes eminent, and the lack of crime in her surroundings proving too much for this young Sergeant. However, her feelings towards the village change when she meets her strangely attractive, work orientated boss, Chief Inspector Nicholas Angel and his oafish wing man, Sergeant Danny Butterman. Follow Amber on her journey through a crime less village, and her hopeless infatuation with a man more devoted to his Japanese Peace Lily then meeting a woman to fill the space in his heart.

The thirty-second entry of the 2020-2021 Film Journal is "Last Night in Soho". Primarily, I take a deep dive into this frightening film's scary ideas about nostalgia and the patriarchy, which hit a little too close to home.
