A classically written fictional story set in eighteenth century France, of a poor peasant boy who sets off for a better life and ends up entangled in nightmarish extravagance with a wealthy Parisian countess.

This is an expansion of the backstory of my steampunk automaton OC, Sinewave Londinium. This story tells of the existential journey of Sinewave Londinium, an automaton who didn't even start out as such, but who ended up transcending more than just the technical limitations expected of her.
