Sometimes a witch or wizards magical signature is so completely incompatible with another that they repel one another like magnets. On the other hand, if two magical signatures mesh well together, well there are no stronger relationships in all the world. In a sample of a thousand people, the average witch or wizard will be slightly repelled by four or five people and strongly repelled by only one, at the most. The opposite is true for attraction. But Harry Potter can't kiss anyone at all.

Hermione and Draco return to Hogwarts for their eighth year to find they are the new Head Girl and Head Boy. Worse yet, inexplicable things seem to be going down in Hogwarts. Magic going wrong, old friends with new faces, books that speak in riddles. Can they get to the bottom of this? After all, Hermione and Draco hate each other. Nothing can change that - not being paired for a research project, not having to share a dorm, not even a peace treaty forcing them to cooperate. At least, that's what they tell themselves as they lie awake at night thinking about each other.

Aswell as Drarry there is Pansmione, Linny and Deamus. Deamus and Linny are already couples. Pansmione come in near the start. Hermione is lesbian and Pansy is pansexual and non-binary (they/them pronouns). Ron has a little crush on Blaise but doesn't act on it.

My writing is gross and total cringe at the beginning but it gets wayyy better I can promise you that. --- It's eighth year at Hogwarts and Harry just can't stand to stay in that dark old house any longer. He goes to school and finds that without a distraction like Voldemort, Harry is becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy. Draco just seems to be acting off. Draco Malfoy couldn't stand to be at the manor anymore. It only reminded him of what he had become. Of what his family had become while He was there. When he comes back to school for eighth year, he is just falling apart. He tries his best to use his Malfoy Mask™ to hide what's going on, and it works mostly, the only person it doesn't work on is the one person he wishes he could avoid. Harry Potter.
