Grace liked spring. She liked how it brought new beginnings and she liked the idea of it being a time for second chances. Nowadays, spring brings her pain. The eighty-sixth annual Diamond City eisteddfod is one of Grace's many banes of her existence. One would never have thought playing the piano used to be Grace's favourite past-times. This is a story about expectations, the discovery of self and independence. It is a half-standalone half-companion short-story written for an English assignment, so please excuse any discrepancies.

Young pianists Eamon Yin and Elowen Yue tie for first place on their first season of the State Eisteddfod, where a fierce rivalry begins - a competition neither wants to lose. But their teachers have other plans : pair them for a duet in the upcoming duet Eisteddfod, with a trip to Paris on the line. Forced to share a piano bench, they clash over every note. Between arguments and constant fights, they are forced to adapt the skill on practicing together and harmonising between the keys and also themselves as a duet. Will they be able to stand under the Paris city lights seeing each other differently?
