Nemesis Elpis Marquez Antonio knows the beauty of Manila, a city of breathtaking sunsets and vibrant life, yet one where justice remains elusive, a cruel paradox etched into its very soul. An aspiring lawyer, she's a warrior forged in the fires of a brutal past. Her days as a Political Science student were a blur of family strife and the chilling certainty of death threats, each exam a gamble against a fate that seemed determined to crush her. Those haunting memories; the regrets, the unanswered "what ifs" fuel her relentless pursuit of justice, a burning ember against the city's indifference. This isn't just another legal battle; it's a visceral fight for survival, a desperate dance with death played out in high-stakes courtrooms and clandestine midnight rendezvous. Betrayal is a familiar sting, the lines between right and wrong blurring as she risks everything to champion the voiceless, to bring light to the darkness that shrouds even the most beautiful cityscapes. This is Nemesis's story: a heart-pounding journey through Manila's vibrant yet unjust heart, where the ghosts of her past hold the key to her future, and every victory is a hard-won battle for the truth, a testament to the resilience of hope in the face of despair. Would she make it until the end? - @Crimzon_HeLL.

Politics is a cutthroat game, but when you're dead, it doesn't matter what they cut. And it is a dirty game, filled with the kind of people that think nothing of ruining an opponent's life, but few go so far as throwing their counterparts through windows. When Balmy Bymeadow is improbably murdered, his son, Myld, is forced to carry on his father's legacy, but, in order to do so, he must take the unprecedented course of keeping his dead father around. Aided by Finella, a uniquely talented taxidermist, her sister, Flinda, a self-appointed Fairly Gods-Mother, and Phibber Monkshot, a wily and incredibly competent civil servant, in his corner, Myld must navigate the torrid waters of politics, deal with his surprisingly mobile dead father, avoid several near-death experiences and learn what it requires to get elected in a city where politics is quite literally a life or death struggle. With a pinch of 'Yes, Minister', a dash of 'The Walking Dead', and a heaped spoonful of 'Discworld'.

50 years since the war which broke the Hunger Games on Panem, Katniss and Peeta are the last living tributes left. As the memories of why everyone fought for freedom fades they hold strong to keep the honor of those they've lost still alive. Yet there's a fire burning through the capitol. Everything they fought against is creeping back with the new generation and a new election. The districts, the power outs, the hatred between the new capitol and the workers outside of it. After a tragic turn of events there's a call to bring back the Hunger Games. Will Katniss, Peeta and their family still have the fighting spirit to keep the peace. Or will the see their new Panem become just like the old one. Authors note: I wanted to write a story about a strong older aged woman. We looked up to Katniss when she was young, we can still look up to her when she's older.

It's the early autumn of 1986, and Kelly, a quiet, unassuming high school student from the deep suburbs of New Jersey, is just trying to make it through the days without incident. His classmates have other ideas. When Kelly's name accidentally appears on the ballot for Homecoming Queen, he becomes, over his protestations, the candidate of his classmates with contempt for the process, the school, and popularity contests in general. Kelly finds out that even a joke run has some unexpected consequences. "Kelly" is a story about New Jersey, a story about elections and democracy and voting, a story about gender roles and sexual confusion, a story about cosmetics and cover-ups, friends and frenemies. But mostly it's the story of a kid who wants to be something more than what the world insists he is.

THE most recent round of exchange talks among England and India has closed without an arrangement, with an English authority saying an understanding couldn't be finished in front of the impending Indian decisions. The two nations have held stop-begin talks once again with an International alliance (FTA) for quite some time and both are set to hold public decisions in 2024. Head of the state Narendra Modi will offer for an uncommon third term in a vote that will be held in stages from April to June. "Neither one of the sides is leaving talks," said one English authority. "We essentially don't yet have what we want to finish an arrangement that meets our joint desires." The following round of formal exchange talks will start after India's decisions have finished up. https://www.srilankaweekly.co.uk/uk-india-trade-talks-on-hold-until-after-election/
