Mason, the confident leader of his high school band club, was a junior who lived for the roar of his electric guitar. The grief of losing Ruby and the haunting "what ifs" regarding their child has led him into a cycle of heavy drinking and chain-smoking. Despite his downward spiral, Mason hasn't given up hope. Every neon sign and every mile of asphalt is just a backdrop to his singular goal: finding Ruby. He is a man looking for a lost rhythm, desperate to find the woman who once provided the perfect counter-melody to his life, even if he's terrified of what he might find when he finally catches up to her.
