Jack Chase has found something. It all starts in the midst of a dream; a clear, female voice, echoing words inside his head about something called "the bloodstone" and showing Jack pictures. He wakes up and finds it in his room. He doesn't realize the strength that this small, decagram-shaped-stone (a decagram is a ten-pointed-star) holds inside of it. The stone holds the fate of an entire race within it. One small crack, and the red inside will slowly drain out of it. As the last drop leaves, the entire race and their culture will be gone forever. Jack is forced to bear the stone to prevent anyone from damaging it. Soon enough, a fifteen-year-old girl named Amber appears by Jack's window. The two teens help each other protect the stone until they at last find out what it is.
