There is a continuation of the relationship between Elena McCall and Derek Hale; Lydia Martin has been experiencing persistent hallucinations ever since she was bitten by Peter Hale, who is now deceased as a result of Derek Hale and Elena McCall. The abused adolescent Isaac Lahey is brought into Derek's pack by Derek. Derek bitten Jackson Whittemore, and Jackson Whittemore began to show signs of rejecting the bite. When Gerard Argent, Allison's grandfather, arrives in town for the funeral of his daughter Kate Argent, he makes the decision to exact revenge for her passing by declaring war on all werewolves, regardless of whether or not they are innocent. Jackson is revealed to be the Kanima, controlled by an unknown master who can make it kill or otherwise harm on orders. To save Elena from danger after Victoria Argent thinks Allison and Elena are still together, Derek ends up biting Victoria, who commits suicide before she turns. Elena, Stiles, their parents, and Derek are able to escape from being held hostage by Matt at a local police station. However, Elena undergoes a transformation for the first time in front of her mother, Melissa McCall, which causes her to be horrified. Both Elena and Derek's relationship is put to the test; will they be able to survive? Are Elena and her mother going to be okay?

Based on Season One... Elena McCall is a typical adolescent who suffers from asthma and can be found residing in Beacon Hills with her mother, who is a single parent. During the course of a single evening, Elena and her closest companion, Stiles Stilinski, who is the son of the local sheriff, Noah Stilinski, came to the realisation that the police had discovered a half-body in the woods. They set out to find the other half, but while they are on their way, Elena is attacked by a werewolf and bitten by it. Elena develops supernatural abilities as a result of her newly discovered lycanthropy. These abilities include increased strength and speed, as well as heightened senses. These abilities allow Elena to excel in her role as captain of the lacrosse team at Beacon Hills High School. In addition to garnering the admiration of her boyfriend, Jackson Whittemore, who plays lacrosse, Elena earns the respect of Lydia Martin, a fellow popular girl. Elena also develops a romantic relationship with Allison Argent, a new student at the school; however, Elena quickly learns that Allison's father, Chris Argent, is a Werewolf Hunter. Elena and Stiles come face to face with Beta Werewolf Derek Hale, whose family was killed in a mysterious house fire six years ago where they were living. Laura Hale, Derek's sister, is found to be the missing body after the second half of the body is discovered by the investigators. An additional piece of information that Elena discovers is that the Alpha Werewolf, the most powerful of all wolves, is currently on a killing spree and was the one who bit her. Realising the consequences and changes of her new life, she is forced to protect her peers and loved ones, who struggles to find her place in the new world, torn between a Werewolf and a Human love...
