This takes place years after season three of Tangled the Series. Cassandra and Varian are married and have a child, Opal. Opal's character belongs 100% to @ElizabethShelby and all other characters belong to Disney, except for Eleni, who is an OC. In this AU, Opal is 7 when Rapunzel's first child is born. On the night of Rapunzel's first child's birth, some strange magic is triggered. The Great Tree has regrown, and Rapunzel becomes very ill. With not many other options, Eugene, Lance, Varian and Cassandra, and their daughter, Opal, venture to the Great Tree to try to find a cure... before time runs out. Will Varian and Cassandra be able to rise above the hate that the citizens of Corona still give them? Will Eugene be able to keep it together long enough to save Rapunzel? The story follows the journey of Duchess Eleni Notarus as she is captured and brought to the castle of Sultan Mehmed the second and how she survives there and becomes one of his most loyal supporters and accomplice in achieving his dream of capturing Constantinople. Is she really just a slave turned accomplice though or is a new duchess going to enter the Sultan's harem? This is going to be a short story with only a few chapters. I obviously don't own any of the main characters except new characters introduced by me. I am inspired by the series Mehmed the Conquerer and writing this imagined story because of my disappointment at its very short run. I am aware that my story might be historically inaccurate sometimes but I would try to not contradict real historical facts and incorporate them into the story as much as possible.
